Attendance: Matt Caffrey, Kelly Stritzinger, Julia Slusarz,
Dustin White, Zel Caldwell, Andrew Ashbrook, Joey Longley, Mallory Kimble, Mike
Triozzi, Sydney Schmitt (called in)
Recap last week: Shit my Kasich says: Was mostly Caffrey
speaking. Decent, but not the best meeting ever.
Kelly brought $20 for DC trip
DC trip:
Car seating: we
should have members write preferences on sheet, then e-board will pick who is
riding in cars.
Members will be able to change if they have issues with
which car they are placed in.
We have two minivans (Matt and Joey’s parents’ cars) and one
car (Dustin)
We need at least one more car:
–
Renting? $10/day-ish
–
Borrowing? We will call people to find out if
they are willing to drive: Travis? Paul? Genevieve? Mike? Andrew Lin? Sabrina
Moxcey (Matt will call these people after e-board)
We will not assign cars or hotels, but will ask preference.
Members will list 3 people they want to live/ride with.
Hostel: Still hasn’t been reserved. Matt has called but
the person was unable to help. We may need to stay do hostel international
instead. Either way, Matt will take care of it soon.
Metro: We need to
send Metro a money order in order to get the passes in advance. They will send
us the passes in the mail.
Code of Conduct for
Trip: Mike, Mallory, Liz, Dustin will work on it. Mike will make google doc and share everyone
on it.
Schedule: We will finalize which locations we’re going
to go to. Monday we’re going to senate floor! Matt is going to take care of
schedule, which will be made public after other trip details finalized
Petitions for getting
sexual violence policy on USG ballot:
We need people to get signatures, needed by end of quarter.
Like to be done/to reach 300 signatures by the end of this week.
We will make sure some get passed around at next Dems
meeting
This week’s meeting
3/3/11: “Race and Education”
Sydney is meeting with Warren (president of BSA). Thinking of inviting
Larry (former BSA president) to meeting
